Aberrwide City by Heavy-Metal-Lover Aberrwide City by Heavy-Metal-Lover
Welcome back to Aberrwide City, the place of garbage collection difficulties. Really nice advertisement for the city, right. What's strange, the water is absolutely clean, no pollution. It's also the city of 5th gym... Wait, where is it?!

You always wondered what is the boat for. Just take a look at the latest Aristos region map and you should figure it out :)

UPDATE 25.02.2013@20:18:

Marvellous stuff! How do you make these? I mean which programs do you use? When I was younger I remember trying to make my own game with a software and a few tools I downloaded from Whack-a-hack back then. Maybe I should give the site a visit. :P

The fifth gym is of course the unassuming yellow building thing at the bottom left. The entrance room actually has a staircase that gets you "underground", only "underground" is actually a room which is warped through magitek (Technological transporter technology + Trick-Room moves and Dream Smoke = Yay!) to look much bigger and similiar to a medieval-looking fantasy town that looks the same size as Aberrwide. You have to embark in a Final Fantasy-like quest, with clothes for the occasion and all, to find the "Princess" Redillia, who turns out to actually be... the Dark Type Gym Leader of Aberrwide City, known as "The Princess of Fairy Grace". What, Aberrwide looks like a Normal-type town? Were you expecting it to have a Poison or perhaps Water type gym? Yellow does not look like the color of a Dark-type gym? What's to say about Fortree, a grass-looking town with a flying type Gym? Does Pastoria look like a water-type city? Vermillion has an Electric-type gym but looks rather Water or maybe Grass. Saffron could be the perfect place for a Dark-type gym, does Hearthome look Ghost? It looks like a Fairy or Normal-type town. Even in Platinum, it does not look ghostly at all. It just looks sort-of "motherly old ladies live there with their young nieces and nephews". Take off Sunyshore (sic) s' Elevated Walkways, or even still with them, and it looks like a Rock-type town or even Water-type since it's jap name means "shore" in japanese. It's easy to suffice that if the Towns were "pokèmon-ized", their types would not be the same as the ones specialized in their gyms.

I don't know what you're talking about and what's the point of it. You're right about one thing, the Gym Leader is a Dark type trainer. But the gym is located somewhere else, the building you've mentioned is just a regular underground passage. Also the Gym Leader is a male and his name is Darius.

Hey, thanks!

There is other software than Advance Map, for example I use RPG Maker XP (it's an RPG game production software, but I use it just for maps too). RPG Maker XP allows you to keep all the colors you desire, also allows you to set transparency or semi-transparency to whatever piece of tileset you want. You can produce a tileset in Paint, Photoshop or any program you want and simply put a file into the RPG Maker XP.

Nintendo will always be jealous. They never really progress a lot graphics wise.
